Clermont Mine
Central Queensland, Australia

Owner: Rio Tinto Coal Australia, Client: Sinclaire Knight Merz (EPCM Contractor for the Project),                         Project Value: $950M

KLJ team members have taken leadership roles on many infrastructure projects over the last 6 years. While we don’t like to brag, the roles have included full project management responsibilities or more specialised tasks where other project managers just couldn’t afford a problem.

Rio Tinto and its joint venture partners have developed the Clermont Mine as a replacement coal source for the Blair Athol Mine which is reaching the end of its economic life. Clermont Mine will produce up to 12.2 million tonnes of high quality thermal coal each year with full capacity being reached in 2013. KLJ Consulting personnel performed on-site contracts management for several years. KLJ Consulting’s educated and qualified personnel successfully completed contract administration services for our client including major contracts in the following areas:

  • Civil Works Infrastructure
  • In Pit Crushing & Conveying System (IPCC)
  • Reinforced Earth Wall
  • Coal Preparation Plant
  • 13km Overland Conveyor
  • Administration Area
  • Access Road and Roadways
  • Major Highway Diversion
  • Construction Village complete with facilities
