David Oliver
Before joining KLJ Consulting, David’s career in Procurement, Supply Chain and Logistics already spanned 30 years. This included a 16 year career with the Royal Australian Air Force as a Supply/Logistics Officer where he rose to senior officer rank. He has also held positions as of National Procurement Manager Boral Timber, Strategic Logistics Project Manager with a leading Australian food company and Senior Contract Professional within the mining industry. David’s background also includes a 10 year career as Principal Consultant with a leading national specialist Supply Chain & Logistics Consulting organisation.
David has considerable experience in all aspects of supply chain management, particularly in inventory control, logistics support and process re-engineering to achieve fully integrated operations. His background includes system assessment and definition, activity based costing, project management and organisational structure development. He is highly skilled in the development of both policy and procedure having performed these functions at the national, regional and site levels for organisations such as the ADF to Rio Tinto.
David also specialises in procurement, contract preparation, outsourcing strategies, transport, and warehouse/distribution operations. He has designed and constructed a variety of computer based financial management, inventory, purchasing/procurement and contract management systems. David has also coordinated numerous specification and tender processes for the provision of a range of goods and services.
David is a current member of the Logistics Association of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree with majors in Economics, Law, Organisation and Industrial Relations and postgraduate studies in Law and Industrial Relations.
