The NCIG Coal Export Terminal Stage 2AA had been fast-tracked to provide additional coal loading capacity for the port of Newcastle. Stage 2AA of the project provides a significant increase in capacity taking the total capacity to 56 Mtpa. The plant commenced operation in March 2012.

KLJ Consulting was engaged to provide tendering and contract management services for Stage 2AA. KLJ Consulting’s activity includes the preparation and review of tenders followed by the negotiation of contracts through to Contract Administration of all executed Contracts. KLJ Consulting has further involvement with the ongoing procurement management and administration of all contracts at the construction site on Kooragang Island.
