Ian Scobie

Ian is a civil engineer with more than thirty years experience in project management and procurement roles.  Since joining KLJ Consulting in the role of Senior Consultant in 2007, Ian’s responsibilities have included preparation of tenders and negotiating and awarding contracts for the NCIG Coal Export Terminal.  Ian has been active in the preparation and development of business systems and processes for the KLJ Consulting Group and has been involved with the preparation of documentation for various clients as part of the dispute resolution process.

Prior to joining the KLJ Consulting team, Ian worked in mining operations, rail manufacturing projects and coal mine and aluminum smelter construction developments.  Ian has first hand experience with the management of locomotive, passenger rail car and freight vehicle manufacturing projects while working in project management roles with a major rolling stock manufacturing company.  He has also been involved with project management and procurement at a number of coal mine operations and developments including plants in the Mt Thorley, Ravensworth and Tarong areas.  Ian also spent three years working as senior field engineer on construction in the potrooms area at the Tomago Aluminium Smelter.
