The NCIG Coal Export Terminal provides additional coal loading capacity for the port of Newcastle NSW.  It was developed in order to provide export facilities for the increasing number of mines in the Hunter Valley, Ulan and Gunnedah regions. Construction of Stage 1 of the project has been successfully completed and the loader is now operational providing additional coal loading capacity of 30 Mtpa. Stage 1 has been completed within budget and ahead of schedule.

KLJ Consulting provided tendering and contract management services to establish contracts for the design, supply, construction and commissioning for the complete project, from bulk earthworks through to commissioning.  KLJ Consulting’s scope included the preparation and review of tenders followed by the negotiation of contracts.  KLJ Consulting has continued its involvement with the ongoing procurement management and administration of all contracts at the construction site.
